You now have a tool to assist you in finding alternate routes around highway and ramp closures in the St. Louis area, especially along the I-64 reconstruction project.
On Monday, May 21, 2007, the Missouri Department of Transportation unveiled Map My Trip, a web based travel information tool that aids motorists traveling through St. Louis City and County.
Before heading out, you should visit http://dist6.modot.mo.gov/mapmytrip.
Provide your origin and destination locations, and the program will offer an alternative route, directing you away from complete ramp, interchange or highway closures due to construction in St. Louis City and County. Travel can be plotted from any origin or destination, but accurate information on highway and ramp closures is limited to St. Louis City and County only.
Map My Trip will suggest an alternate route for your travel, however, that route may not necessarily reflect the fastest route based on real-time traffic conditions. For current travel times on St. Louis interstates and highways, you are encouraged to visit Gateway Guide at www.gatewayguide.com or dial 511, a free voice activated telephone service that provides around-the-clock real-time traffic information or incidents on interstates and major state highways in the St. Louis area.
